Oh! What a Night is a 70's musical which was staged at the Blackpool
Opera House in the summer of 1997. It was directed and choreographed
by Take That's choreographer Kim Gavin, and starred Kid Creole
and John Altman (Nic Cotton, Eastenders).
I was lucky enough to play the romantic lead role of Ric (the
barman), and got to sing some great songs like, Easy, Blame
it on the Boogie and When I need You. The cast were all completely
fabulous and the show was none stop energy and fun from start
to finish.
Bernie Nolan from the Nolan Sisters was also in the show, and
one of the highlights of the show for me was being in the weird
situation of dancing to 'I'm in the mood for dancing', sung
by Bernie, not 5ft away from me. You see as a kid I used to
watch her on Top of the Pops singing that song when it was a
hit! And back then I never thought in my wildest dreams that
one day................ Life is to weird sometimes!
Below are 2 pictures of me in Oh What A Night.
